About Meadowhawk Farm
Living at Meadowhawk Farm has heightened our concerns for the environment and our awareness of how everything we do impacts the world around us. It is a great joy to walk in the garden and be surrounded not only by trees, plants and flowers, but also by wildlife such as birds, dragonflies, bees, and butterflies. We are devoted to protecting and encouraging the habitats and conditions that make it possible for these creatures and plants to continue to flourish here. Keeping this in mind, we are still able to grow lots of our own food and other useful plants. We invite you to incorporate this approach to your garden and landscape.
We keep lists of plants growing at Meadowhawk Farm, arranged by type. If you live in the Pacific Northwest, particularly in the Puget Trough, these plants will likely do well for you. They have proven themselves to be adaptable and easy to grow in our area. Seeds are available for many. You are welcome to contact us if you see anything you are lookng for on our plant lists. For now, we have chosen not to sell live plants. We will consider contract growing to meet your needs. In any case, planning ahead will help ensure that you will have healthy plants from a considerate source. When establishing native plants, it is best to use stock from the nearest available natural site.
Our environment is a complex puzzle of living pieces, and like any puzzle, will present us with a lovely finished product if we have all the correct parts in place. We hope some of the information on this website will help you to realize a healthy and sustaining garden, where everything works in harmony.
All of the photos on this site and blog are original and taken at Meadowhawk Farm except for a few in the blog that are clearly noted.
